Scanner has problems, and copier's fine?

When using my all-in-one's scanner, the strip that moves across the surface goes forward a bit, then backward, and again until the entire page is scanned. Where it once took about 30 seconds to scan something, it now takes 2 minutes. My copier still is working perfectly though, so I'm assuming it's my computer's problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Could the problem probably be fixed if I reinstalled Windows?
