Biological processes for a whole range of different uses. Biotech has applications in healthcare, agriculture, industrial fields, and environmental fields, just to name a few. For instance, biotechnology has lead to the development of fuels, medicines and antibiotics, various pharmaceutical products, and environmentally-conscious products. Biotechnology is probably most important due to the innovations produced that have been largely need-based, such as antibiotics and agricultural developments to such as pesticides. I'm positive if you decide to go into biotechnology, you'll have an amazing job that will last for years to come. Biotechnological field involves a lot of lab work, so if you're currently in college, I'd try to get a position (even just a small position) in a biological research lab, especially one that deals with environmental microbiology. I know my university offers a Biotechnology Program where you can do four years of undergraduate work in a lab related to biotechnology and then complete your masters in one year after your undergraduate coursework. Just research universities that have biotechnology programs and you'll probably find one that can suit your needs. Haim Toledano
